How to Donate
to Save the Codgers...
If you'd like to contribute
to the moving and/or housing expenses of the soon-to-be-homeless Codgers, we'd be thrilled!
Jack's
Social Security check doesn't come close to covering any rental we've
seen, and we're way too old and creaky to survive for long living in a car and
moving from parking lot to parking lot or camping by the roadside.
(Yes, I've checked out Government Rental Assistance - some programs put
people on a waiting list to even be considered, and others are so
overwhelmed that there's no longer even a waiting list!) Therefore, if you're so inclined, feel
free to pick an option below and go for it!
The Codger's
lives you save will be ours! Please remember that contributions are
not tax deductible, but are vastly appreciated!
You can make a one-time donation:
You can subscribe to a monthly
donation:
If the donation amount that you have in mind isn't here,
let us know and we'll add a button for you. :)
If you can't donate, perhaps you can
make a wish come true.
Wish List:
A Place to Live. We need a
house
that's big enough to shelter two Codgers, four cats, two dogs, and our
furniture, books, kitchen stuff, and such, as well as the mementos that
we've accumulated over the years. Two bedrooms would be great, so
that there's room for a friend-in-need when necessary.
(Also, we have a lot of stuff!) We'd be happy to live in a barn if
it has plumbing!
Jobs. We both need to
go back to work in order to make enough money to stay alive. We've
looked for jobs since we arrived here in 1998, but have struck out.
We're old, but we're not useless, so PLEASE put us to work! (There
are some medical considerations involved, but we're willing to discuss any
job that's not likely to kill a Codger.)
Help with Moving. If we
manage to find a place to live that we can afford, we'll need help moving
our stuff, as we can't afford to hire movers and/or moving vans.
Packing Materials. We
could use lots of boxes and newspapers for packing. Wardrobe boxes
would be especially useful!
Storage for Some of Our Stuff.
Until we get settled and figure out what we have room for and what we have
to try to sell, we need a place to store our storage trailers, tools, lumber,
water troughs, washer and dryer, and various other odds and ends.
