Since we were adopted by Yaks in October of 2003, we've become complete and unabashed
Yakaholics. They're beautiful, intelligent, and absolutely
fascinating,
(Yakaholic - One who is addicted to Yaks, and/or one who
exhibits an extreme love for and devotion to Yaks. There is no cure, but
then, no Yakaholic has ever WANTED to be cured!!!)
Within these pages you can get a glimpse into
a Yakaholic's world. We hope that you'll
enjoy yourself, and that you'll invite your friends and neighbors to visit
us, too.
The Yaks get on well with the Pygmy Goats, Pete the Donkey,
Huey the Gander and Hildegard the Goose. They all share the pastures, creek, and water
troughs without any major trauma or upset.
Even the indoor critters who only see the Yaks through
window glass have become Yakaholics. They spend endless hours
Yak-watching from the windowsills.
Yaks are great fun. Here are a few shots of them going about their
daily business.

Like clockwork, the Yaks show up in our front
yard at dawn and dusk. It's mealtime, of course. Yaks require no
special fencing and one third less acreage than cattle. They thrive
under virtually any weather condition and are disease resistant.
Crossbreeding Yaks with cattle produces fertile female and sterile male
offspring. They are very quiet, but do communicate verbally with in a
guttural, low
pitched Yak language. They are mild mannered, friendly critters who enjoy
being petted and groomed. If you are interested in adopting some of
these lovely critters, we
have several who are available.
We've provided this site so that you can get a glimpse into
a Yakaholic's world. We hope that you'll
enjoy yourself, and that you'll invite your friends and neighbors to visit
us, too.
