Adoptions:
From time to time, we've always had to find other homes for some
of our rescued Critters. After all, there's only a finite amount of
space here, as well as a finite amount of money. When our population reached a certain size, we
had to
reduce it in order to continue to rescue other Critters-in-Need.
Now that Critter Haven has been closed, almost all of the
Critters have been adopted. Only Angus, Minnie, the Codgers and their
indoor
Critters still need a place to live.

Minerva Winifred, an excellent varmint hunter, needs a new place to
live. She's sweet natured and cuddly, but extremely independent.
Minnie and Angus (see below) are best buddies.
Angus Fergus Rufus Dufus Fergil McDuff, a beautiful and conscientious
Border Collie, must find a new home. He's sweet-tempered, biddable,
a wonderful watch dog, and diligently protects any Critters in his
charge. Angus loves Minnie (see above).
The Fuzzer and I are old and creaky, but we're also cheery, helpful,
skilled in many areas, and up for adoption ourselves.
Below are photos of some of the Critters whom we've served
over the years, and who have been adopted by the lovely people of the
Tollhouse area.

Update! The Oscar and Olivia
amily has moved to a new home! Oscar loves being cuddled, having his head kissed,
and taking care of his babies. He and Olivia both enjoy having showers
and wading and/or soaking in a creek or pond. These lovely big birds
will be living with some Critter Haven Yaks who were adopted by their new
humans a few years ago, as well as a few other Emus and other Critters.
We miss them, but are happy that they'll be loved and nurtured.
Huey and Hildegard are beautiful! They like attention (especially Huey,
who likes being kissed on the top of his head), are good watch geese (No
one sneaks past a Goose!), and
work hard eating ticks and other insect pests. Hildy's eggs are
delicious, and are especially good for baking. A lovely lady has
agreed to take them in, bless her!
Our Pekins, Mallards, and Indian Runner Ducks have been providing us
with delicious, nutritious eggs for years. Most of the current Ducks
are only a couple of years old, but they've all done their part to keep us
fed.
A wonderful family has adopted all of the ducks,
and they're now ensconced at their new home.

Good News! Sonia and Koose have found a home together! This
is wonderful, as they've never
been apart from one another... Their original family brought them to
us after Koose had been attacked by a pit bull. She recovered, under
Sonia's supervision. They're never far from one another, and would
likely not survive if they were sent to separate homes. Koose also
lays lovely eggs. Once you've baked with Goose eggs, you'll never
want to use Chicken eggs again!
Tootie, Frannie, Cuddles, and Sasha have all been
adopted - together! They're
quiet and friendly, will eat from your hand, and will quickly win your
heart. They're off to Pine Flats, new companions, and many more
happy years together. Now they're gone from here, but not from our
hearts.
More Good News! All of the Yaks have been adopted and have moved to
their new home. They now have ponds in which to swim, LOTS of
acreage to roam, and a loving human to care for them.
Beatrice and Babbette, two lovely and adorable sisters,
have found a permanent home.
Like Delilah (see below) they love being groomed and petted. They're
also fond of alfalfa cubes and cob. We've known them since the day
that each was born. We love them dearly, and are devastated that
they're gone, but they'll be happy where they are now, and their new human
will take excellent care of them!
Semi-Good News! Delilah was adopted with Beatrice and Babbette.
She now has a lovely home, but no longer has her adoptive Dad, Petey.
Delilah is delightful! We bottle-fed her from the day that she
was born, and Petey adopted her. She and Petey have been together
her whole life, so losing him was extremely difficult for her.
However, she was adopted with Beatrice and Babbette, which may help to
alleviate some of her anxiety at being separated from Petey (and us).
Critter Rescues:
If you have or know of a critter who needs to be rescued
in our area,
we're sorry to say that can no longer help him or her. Barring a
miracle, we'll be homeless ourselves soon, and in no position to help
anyone.
Codger Rescues:
If you'd like to help out, we'd welcome any contributions toward our
moving and related expenses.
We also need a place to live, so if you have any bright
ideas, we'd love to hear them! Paying rent on a Social Security
income is virtually impossible, much less first and last month's rent plus
security deposit, etc., etc., as well as moving expenses.
We're looking for a CHEAP (er, um, affordable)
house (or a barn with indoor plumbing, or an abandoned warehouse that could be
adapted) for the two of us and our remaining Critters. We're willing to do odd jobs or help out in whatever (legal)
way we can to help pay the rent. We just don't have much money.
Please keep in mind that money isn't the only way to
help. There are several things that we REALLY need on our
Wish List.
