North Fork is a picturesque community nestled in the heart of the Sierra
Nevada Mountains at the exact center of California. It was a genuine logging town and has
a Mid-1900's flavor. A rich Indian history fills the area as it has been the dwelling place
of Mono Indians for hundreds of years. It is the jumping off point for Sierra Vista Scenic
Byway, which Sunset Magazine calls the most spectacular little-known drive in California.
ride and report on the newly finished railroad.
